Analyze My Entire Inventory →What this calculator tells you
How much cash — at cost, not retail — is currently invested in the units you have on hand for one product. If you also enter recent sales, it estimates how many days that quantity represents at your current pace.
How the calculation works
Inventory Cost Currently Held = Units on Hand × Unit Cost
This is what you paid to acquire the units still on hand — not necessarily what you could recover by selling them.
Example
97 units on hand at $50 unit cost:
- Inventory Cost Currently Held = 97 × $50 = $4,850
How to interpret the result
This figure is the cash that isn't available for other inventory or expenses while these units sit unsold. It doesn't mean all of it can be recovered immediately — that depends on how well (and at what price) the remaining units actually sell.
When this metric can be misleading
A large cash figure on a fast-turning product is often perfectly healthy — it's about to convert back to cash through normal sales. The number matters most when paired with how slowly the product is actually moving.
What to do next
